Scott Scowcroft,
Hi Scott,
Seems I've misplaced the link to those lights you recommended (the ones that can be adjusted) for video work.
Have you got a link handy - or Brand name and I can find them on Amazon.
Finally getting ready to get semi-serious about YouTube :)
Andy
Andrew,
ReplyDeleteThere's a whole family of Viltrox lights including kits, each basicly the same but configured differently depending on your needs.
At the time, we purchased this kit (below) as the best deal for us because it seemed the best buy. It includes two lights/stands/ac power adapters but no batteries.
I've found the lights to be excellent, though I don't feel I've conquered knowing what color temperature is best to choose in each situation.
I also purchased only two lights. You'll want to think through how you'll accomplish three point lighting. Maybe a third Viltrox, but there are other options.
For chromoakey, you'll want to consider a five light set-up, even in your small space. Will forward to you a tutorial on this subject if I can ever find it again.
You'll want to find some way to mount the lights, maybe the light stands, but they're pretty big for a small space. I purchased heavy duty tripods (below), but part of my reasoning was to "impress" clients. I doubt you care much about impressing yourself, at least in that way. :-)
I've since found the light stands are excellent to use in the field, one for my Logitech Brio webcam (also below), and the other for a (shotgun) microphone.

Originally the Brio was $199, and I bought two on sale for ~$170. Am shocked to see it's now "retailing" for $584, and "selling" on Amazon for $219. Go figure.

So, the Brio is still $199 on Logitech website, so it's not so much "Go Figure,' and more like, "What Give?"
