Help Needed
I'm trying to identify the 20 most commonly used record types used by beginning genealogists. Any additional suggestions that could be added to the following list would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  2. Helen Wright Not country specific and not too granular. I'd define  beginner as someone doing genealogy research for less than 3 years. Thanks for replying, I'll add your suggestions to my spreadsheet.

  4. Church records - baptism, confirmations, ie...., also funeral records from cemetery

  5. Public libraries, my daughter-in-law completed hers using history documents from the area they were from.

  6. Religious events: confirmations, consecrations, baptisms, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, ordinations, etc., would be one I'd add

  7. Also, property records (Title transfers, purchases, tax liens, etc.)

    Also, hospital admission records (when those were public)
