This Event page is simply to allow people to say YES or NO if they wish to take part in an upcoming test. There will be no event on this time or date. All that is needed now is a YES or NO. Full Details will be sent to those saying YES on Sunday, 23 July 2017.
Basically it will involve testing the limits of an Events feature.
You'll click a few links and answer a few questions about the results of those clicks. Nothing too complicated or requiring being online at a certain time.
- Thanks.

Need more info before I can decide.
ReplyDeleteHi Doris,

Aaron, will do.
ReplyDelete;)

"Less may be more...but it is never enough!"
I don't want to assume so I want to confirm that what I see displayed for a time is Eastern. I've responded "Yes" but don't want to miss it if 11:30 is Central!!
ReplyDeleteHi Dave,
ReplyDeleteIt is 11:30 Eastern. 10:30 Central ( My Time Zone)
;)

"Less may be more...but it is never enough!"
What are the details? Can't say either way without details. Ok I'll bite send me the details......strange of doing things but I am always game for some fun.
ReplyDeleteIf I don't have to be online at that time, 8:30AM for me, but can watch the replay then sure.
ReplyDeleteCraig Long
ReplyDeleteSince no one will actually be online at the same time there will be nothing to record.
This is like testing the limits of a particular feature and/or links on an event page and then sending feedback about what you experienced.
Andrew Hatchett OK great.
ReplyDeleteI need more info too.
ReplyDeletePlease See the Details section for general description of test. Details as to exactly the methodology and precise steps are being finalized and will be sent on July 23rd.
ReplyDeleteI recognize this as a devious TRAP!
ReplyDeleteFirst, you lull us in making us feel important as we "test the limits" of this event, and then soon afterward, there will be another sudden go-round as we will have proved to have BROKEN the event software, and are dragged in for collusion, hacking, nefarious and ill-intentioned deeds, bad attitudes, consorting with others of (equally) questionable character, and the general incitement of utter mayhem and chaos. I've been through all of this kind of thing before. Yes, it was a thrill ride next to nothing I'd ever experienced previously, and the adrenaline was pumping through my veins the entire time - the most excitement I'd had in years, and certainly the most notoriety I'd ever had!!!
So, sure, I'm in.
Terry Leigh Britton
ReplyDeleteSo glad you said Yes [even if you did see the trap!]
;)
Terry Leigh Britton ditto. Count me in too Andrew Hatchett
ReplyDeleteI say 'yes' to any scam from you Andrew Hatchett :)
ReplyDeleteAndrew Hatchett, I clicked "maybe" as I never know what my days may be like. Since you said we don't have to be online at any certain time, I may be able to take part.
ReplyDeleteTerry Leigh Britton I miss you!!!!
ReplyDeleteHey everyone. Thank you for invite. I miss everyone.
ReplyDeletecount me in
ReplyDeleteI am totally curious what the test is :)
ReplyDeleteThis should be fun. You know what they say, "Build it and then let's see if we can break it"
ReplyDeleteTerry Leigh Britton I assumed that you had been muted all this tine by the Kraafty one. (JK)
ReplyDeleteMark Barrus Actually, she had muted me so many times that -- I mutated. And mutation isn't always pretty! (Though in my case, I think it looks pretty good!) Ah, well - it's a mute point by now. At least I've not transitioned into a mute-brute. And I've not gone to having a mute-flute, either. I'm still working on a cure, so that I become a little less of a mutant in the future - that is, less mute.
ReplyDeleteFeeling is mutual, Terry Leigh Britton
ReplyDeleteTerry Leigh Britton as long as you don't glow in the dark
ReplyDeleteWell Hell if Peggy K 's gonna be included here
ReplyDeleteI might as well change my maybe too a yes I will be here
I will be working but I'll attempt too put aside some time &
Thank-You Andrew Hatchett for the invite , I'm truly honored
too be included with such a fantastic ensemble of G+ presence & influence
IMOpinion 😉😊🎉🍻🙌🏻👍🏻
Thanks Michael Thomas !
ReplyDeleteLater this evening I'll be sending instructions to those who said yes as to the next step in the test. Basically it will be to click a link and give feedback here on this event page on what you see.
As noted in the details there will be no actual LIVE event at the scheduled time. This is to allow volunteers to participate in the test at a time most convenient to them.
Again - Thanks for volunteering!
Anything for you sir - Andrew Hatchett!
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen V Chin!
ReplyDelete:)
FYI, I clicked it now and it says, "Your meeting should start in a few seconds..."
ReplyDeleteChecking from my Android phone:
ReplyDeleteFirst I see a screen "Your meeting should start in a few seconds..."
Then that redirects to a screen with 3 buttons, and the following instructions:
* If the Zoom app is installed, click Join Meeting.
* First time using Zoom on this device? Please download the Zoom app from the Google Play store or directly from Zoom below.
Enter ID: [9 digit number] after you install the Zoom app.
Thanks Mark Barrus, Peggy K, and Bill Graham.
ReplyDeleteAll seems to be working as it should so far [Fingers Crossed Mode=ON]
:)
Where is a link to press?
ReplyDeleteMichael Daniels
ReplyDeleteYou should have gotten a message with the link- it is also in the details section.
Test Link: https://zoom.us/j/148779462
Ok I see nothing in the details. I clicked your link and it says you are waiting to start
ReplyDeleteThe "waiting To Start" is what you should see... but it won't be :)
ReplyDelete:)
My thanks to Michael Daniels, Richard Clarkson, Sheila Hensley, Heather Kraafter, Gary Solomon, and paulino brener for their FeedBack on this test.
ReplyDeleteAndrew Hatchett As I have a Zoom account it opened your meeting room and loaded my Zoom Control panel
ReplyDeleteThanks Tim Longwell for the feedback.
ReplyDeleteOK...I clicked the link, got a window that asked me to download ZOOM, downloaded ZOOM and then got the Andrew Hatchett meeting window which told me the scheduled date and time. The only choice I had at this point was to leave. I left. Hope this is the type of feedback you're looking for!
ReplyDeleteI clicked "yes" and I have a Zoom account also but it didnt take me to a sign up Page
ReplyDeleteI dont see a link to the Zoom event Am I missing something?
ReplyDeleteIt opened Zoom and said the meeting is for 7/24... with a choice to leave meeting, which I did...
ReplyDeleteDave Robison
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly the type of feedback I'm looking for, altho you didn't have to download and install Zoom unless you wanted to see what it was like.
Arthur Morehead
ReplyDeleteYou should have received a message with the actual link. It is also mentioned twice in the details section. Answering Yes just let me know to whom to send the message link.
My thanks to Dave Robison, Arthur Morehead, and Productive Computer Systems for their feedback on this test.
ReplyDeleteFrom G+ app on iPhone I see the following:
ReplyDeleteYou are using an unsupported browser.
Please use Safari or Google Chrome to open this page.
I am unable to copy the link in G+ app and paste to other browser. Bad G+ app! Bad...
Where would I have received that Link and or Invite I dont even see it in my profile My email is arthur@art-faux.com
ReplyDeleteYou should have gotten a notification but it may depend on how you have
ReplyDeletesettings for Invites set up.
Andrew Hatchett
"Less may be more...but it is never enough!"
Andrew Hatchett I think its only sending them to GMail accounts Firefox does not let anything through any more, It really gone to crap since the new version Plus I don't even use my GMail account because of spammers that run amok in there (I use Outlook) So this maybe part of it also Is it that you are forced to use Chrome with Zoom? I don't like that as I miss everything then it seems I'll try what +Lon McClure says and see how that works, Too many hoops for Zoom
ReplyDeleteArthur Morehead
ReplyDeleteThis is the profile in the User2User-LIVE! community:
https://plus.google.com/u/0/+ArthurMoreheadmuralartist
Any messages, emails, etc would go to whatever email in linked to that profile.
is that 830am your time?
ReplyDeleteGoogle+ says I would have to start a new account to make my Outlook the user email and I tried that Instead they defaulted to make their own email account with a GMail address ( I hate Googles hoops) I still see nothing even when I use Chrome, I went through the same thing with YouTube and thought it was all straightened out but apparently not
ReplyDeleteRichard Clarkson
ReplyDeleteIs what 8:30am my time?
Andrew Hatchett It certainly is. I thought you knew that!
ReplyDeleteI was prompted to install Zoom (which I'd been wanting to do anyway) and then given the opportunity to leave as the event doesn't start until the 24th at 8:30am.
Thanks Terry Leigh Britton
ReplyDeleteThe time was scheduled as 10:30AM Central - everyone should see the time as their local time.
Apparently These Notifications are only going to GMail I had to forward my GMail to Outlook to get the notifications that Zoom sends If you are a dedicated Firefox user otherwise you will not get them. (another hoop) However with Google Chrome which is what Zoom requires there are no issues, Something that Zoom will need to fix. Otherwise people who are using Outlook could not get the invites, (What a headache) Just another bug, I really do like Zoom but not for the kind of money they want, Try Soapbox and Voo. Voo is the same but only its free
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit confused..
ReplyDeleteFrom everything I've seen Soapbox is much more expensive that Zoom - or am I missing something?
Andrew Hatchett You may be right as there are so many of these platforms coming out of the woodwork It's hard to keep them straight. For example I just went to a updated Zoom training and found that You need to download a version for both Chrome and Firefox now, lol Which I didn't have before I could use Outlook :-) These changes happen so quickly that it's hard to stay on top of them. I had an "older version" of Zoom , so all that time I spent on it previously is now in the dumper as the keep improving it. Who knows what tomorrow will bring SMH
ReplyDeleteArthur Morehead I use a pc and chrome browser. I had already installed zoom but don't remember doing it. It told me there was a newer version so I let it install it. When I clicked on the meeting lino it went right to it saying It was tomorrow and I could leave which I did. I also use gmail
ReplyDeleteI have a pc and Chrome and when I clicked the "100 Volunteers Needed for Test" in the email, it took me here, and also when I clicked the "View Event" button it took me here. I had previously installed Zoom for a conversation with someone, but no mention of Zoom for me, other than people's comments about Zoom.
ReplyDeleteI had to literally copy and paste the Zoom url into my address bar to get there only to watch it spin for thirty minutes LOL A lot of issues in just getting there. Still cant get there just clicking the URL because it isn't "clickable" Barbara Quick just copy and paste the URL into the address bar and it will take you there. Dont know if its a Google issue or a Zoom one but needs to be reported.
ReplyDeleteAndrew Hatchett I planned to join you with this event and zoom is working fine for me. Unfortunately, I have a teaching appointment at that time and cannot join you. Good luck. I am wondering: do you try to live-stream from zoom?
ReplyDeleteIleane Smith Thanks for the feedback.
ReplyDeleteBarbara Quick You should have received a message with the zoom link. It is also mentioned twice in the details section.
Adelheid Hörnlein There is no actual LIVE event happening. This was merely testing how the YTLE/HOA could be used as a substitute registration page for the free zoom account which has no registration module.
initially tried last night from the link in +Andrew Hatchett post. The G+ app was unable to open the URL and suggested opening in Chrome browser or other. As I could not select and copy the URL from the post (a G+ feature?) I reported my findings to Andrew and went t bed. Back from much needed sleep, I was able to copy the URL from the details here in the event and paste into Chrome on iPhone. Here are the results:

ReplyDeleteMelinda Moses and John Jurkiewicz
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback- much appreciated
Andrew Hatchett ok, I see. Anyways, I easily was taken into the meeting, or better to the window which said that I need to wait until the meeting would start. It seems that other people have some problems, thougfh. I cannot really understand, as zoom is really easy to get into, just following the steps.
ReplyDeleteAdelheid Hörnlein
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback. Glad you had no trouble.

ReplyDeleteThanks Mark Barrus! Appreciate the screen shot.
ReplyDeleteShall I leave it like that for 30 minutes and see what happens?
ReplyDeleteMark Barrus It should stay the same as no meeting will be opened.
ReplyDeleteThanks Scott Scowcroft for the feedback.
ReplyDeleteAdded link to browser (https://zoom.us/j/148779462 ) and am waiting to start. Just FYI, I did have to download and install and app (Mac - Chrome).
ReplyDeleteHow long do you want this to stay open?
ReplyDeleteOn my desktop now and it is working fine. I have Zoom on my desktop.
ReplyDeleteI get this page: https://zoom.us/j/148779462?pwd=&status=success
ReplyDeleteIf you view the page in Incognito you will probably see what I see.
Tested yesterday and saw the same image Craig shared below. Tested again today and I am stuck in the please wait for host. http://imgur.com/a/eJkPd
ReplyDeleteTrevor Beck and Spencer Wade - No live event will be happening ~ was a test of the invitation process only.
ReplyDeleteDid something new happen that you were testing?
ReplyDelete+Trevor- nope- trying to use Event page as registration page for Zoom free accounts.
ReplyDeleteGot it! Andrew Hatchett Hope the test is successful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Spencer Wade,
ReplyDeleteIt worked mostly as I thought it would and with 62% of those who said yes actually participating and leaving comments I consider it very successful.
:)
SO there was no meeting at all?
ReplyDeleteAndrew Hatchett , little late to the test party. I am on a PC desktop (chrome). Able to download the .exe file and see your Andrew Hatchett's Zoom Invitation Test pop up.
ReplyDeleteArthur Morehead Nope- as the Details said...
ReplyDelete"There will be no live event as part of this test to allow greater participation at a time of the participant's choosing. "
Karen V Chin
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback.
Craig Long I never got that link However there is no meeting anyway? I didnt see that in the details as I didnt get them, nor did I get the link, I had to copy and paste it to the address bar from the notice here
ReplyDeleteHey, Andrew Hatchett . I followed the directions late, and got to the same notice as John Jurkewitz. Clicked on the download and install, and did not notice further prompts.
ReplyDeleteRoland Takaoka
ReplyDeleteThere were no further prompts since there was no actual live meeting at the time.
What you saw was what should have been seen. :)
The video explains the results of the test.
ReplyDeleteHey Andrew Hatchett Does this mean you will use the event page with Zoom or you won't (OR you were just curious to see how it would work)??? :)
ReplyDeleteIleane Smith
ReplyDeleteNot really sure yet. It may come down to what type of Zoom meeting and targeted audience is involved, as well as what other workarounds I can come up with...
;)
I got there late (almost midnight, PDT, 7/24) and it told me there was an update for zoom. I let it update, then got a notice that the test was 7/24.2017 and it gave me the choice to leave. So I left. Tried it twice with same result. Guess it didn't like me coming late to the "party." lol
ReplyDeleteBarbara Quick Thanks for the feedback
ReplyDeleteI just clicked through on the link you had in the comments somewhere Andrew Hatchett and I did get to a screen that allowed me to [Leave]. I do have Zoom already installed on a PC laptop.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ros Betts, appreciate the feedback.
